Instructions After Treatment

Hold the gauze firmly over the wound for about 30 minutes, applying light pressure.

Remove the gauze, and if it continues to bleed, place a second one and bite down.

Don't eat anything until the numbness wears off.

Be careful not to bite your lips or tongue while you're numb. Don't drink hot beverages, as there's a risk of burning yourself.

For the next few days, eat soft foods, specifically on the side opposite the extraction.

Keep your mouth very clean; brush 2-3 times a day and use a mild mouthwash from the pharmacy.

If you have a little pain in the wound, it's normal and expected; take pain medication if needed. The pain should subside day by day until it disappears completely.

If you experience sudden pain 24-48 hours after the extraction, pain that intensifies over time, accompanied by bad breath and a foul taste in your mouth, it's a sign of a wound infection. This is a complication of wound healing called "dry socket." If this happens, don't worry; it's a common occurrence. Contact your dentist to schedule an appointment for them to check it.

In the bleaching package you will find:

  •  Special trays, one for the upper teeth and one for the lower teeth.
  • Whitening gel.
  • Case for the trays.

Instructions for placing the tray:

  1.  Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Place the whitening gel in the tray (a small amount when applying).
  3. Place the tray on your teeth.
  4. Carefully remove any gel that came out of the tray with a cotton swab.

Instructions for removing the tray:

When you remove the tray, brush your teeth thoroughly. Rinse the tray with cold water and place it in its special case.

General instructions:

 Remove the tray during meals.

  1. Do not smoke with the tray in your mouth.
  2. Do not consume large quantities of liquids with the tray.
  3. It's possible to experience gum irritation or tooth sensitivity when drinking water during the whitening process.

Do not smoke on the day of the procedure and for as long as possible.

Avoid strenuous physical exercise for the next 3 days.

Regarding your diet, you shouldn't eat until the anesthesia has completely worn off. On the first day, avoid hot foods and dairy products. Afterwards, a soft diet is recommended for the remaining days.

On the day of the procedure and for the next 24 hours, you should not brush your teeth. Afterwards, you can resume your regular oral hygiene routine in the rest of your mouth, except for the areas with stitches.

For better plaque control in areas you can't brush, your dentist will have given you a prescription for a chlorhexidine mouthwash, which should be used 3 times a day, half an hour after brushing. Start rinsing the day after the procedure.

Pain and discomfort are possible after any surgical procedure. Usually, with implant surgeries, symptoms are minimal and last approximately 24-48 hours. For pain control, you will have been given appropriate painkillers and/or anti-inflammatory medications.

Minor swelling is expected and usually lasts 2-3 days. On the first and second day after the procedure, it's good to apply ice externally to the affected area to reduce swelling. An ice pack will be provided at the clinic. If you use ice at home, place it in a plastic bag and then in a towel so it doesn't come into direct contact with your skin, and apply it to your cheek for 10 minutes. Take a 10-minute break and repeat the process. Prolonged contact of ice with the skin is not recommended to avoid causing burns.

Taking antibiotics is necessary, and you must strictly follow the instructions you've been given.

Minor bleeding may occur in the first few hours after the procedure. Avoid rinsing your mouth continuously. If more intense bleeding is observed, you can apply pressure to the area with gauze or a wet tea bag for about 20 minutes. Usually, bleeding stops easily, and there is no cause for concern.

Stitches are removed in 7 or 14 days, depending on the type of procedure.

If a stitch loosens during this time, there's no need to worry. However, if it bothers you, you can come to the clinic to have it removed.

For any other matter, we are at your disposal at any time.
